Green Lantern movie - in trouble?

tv series, dvd, green lanternLatest news from the Warner Bros said that the production is thinking to shift its location to film the movie, Green Lantern due to the financial crisis happened that the Australian Dollar has climbed more than 16%. As the company is undergoing negotiations with the New South Wales States Government to win higher concessions in a bid to recover some of the money lost in the currency gains.

The plan for live action adaptation of DC Comics has been announced in 2007 as Greg Berlanti will co-write and direct the film. Berlanti worked on the some of the TV series like Dawson's Creek, Everwood and Brothers and Sisters. Co-writing the script will be Marc Guggenheim and Michael Green who both wrote for the Superman/Batman, Amazing Spiderman, Wolverine and Blade Comics.

One of the most enduring and popular characters made by DC Comics. Green Lantern was created in 1940, revolves around test pilot Hal Jordan, who is charged with defending a section of the universe after he finds a powerful ring that gives him infinite powers, including flight and invisibility.


Each of the Earth's Green Lanterns has been a member of either the Justice Society of America or the Justice League of America, and John Stewart was featured as one of the main characters in both the Justice League and the Justice League Unlimited animated series. The Green Lanterns are often depicted as being close friends of the various men who have been the Flash, the most notable friendships having been between Alan Scott and Jay Garrick (the Golden Age Green Lantern and Flash), Hal Jordan and Barry Allen (the Silver Age Green Lantern and Flash), and Kyle Rayner and Wally West (the modern age Green Lantern and Flash), as well as Jordan being friends with West. Warner Bros had been hoping to mount the Green Lantern film, with Ryan Reynolds in the title role, this November at Sydney's Fox Studios. The company is now in talks with the New South Wales State Government to win higher concessions in a bid to recover some of the money lost in the currency gains.

The Green Lantern movie, which centers on a pilot who inherits a mystical green ring, is expected to arrive in cinemas on June 17, 2011.
